Lakeside treatment requires patients to stay overnight in a safe, structured environment. Patients receive 24/7 nursing care, medical consultation and psychiatric services. Known as the most intensive level of care, inpatient is necessary if the psychiatric and/or substance abuse symptoms are severe in nature. Symptoms include current thoughts and plans on harm to self and/or others, active withdrawal from drugs and/or alcohol, inability to perform daily living skills such as work, sleep, personal hygiene, etc and active symptoms of psychosis such as delusions or hallucinations.
