Inpatient Treatment

Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Care

Sometimes outpatient therapy isn’t enough to ease the symptoms of a mental health issue or crisis. When symptoms from depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and other behavioral health concerns become unmanageable, inpatient treatment may be a necessary next step.

Lakeside Behavioral Health System offers acute psychiatric inpatient treatment for children, teens, adults and older adults. Patients experiencing severe mental health symptoms or in need of inpatient detox from drugs or alcohol get 24-hour nursing supervision and an intensive treatment regimen of medication management by a psychiatrist. Specialty inpatient services include programs for suicide prevention and psychological trauma.

Patients also receive:

  • Family therapy
  • Psychotherapy groups
  • Lectures
  • Recreation therapy
  • Education groups
  • Support groups when indicated
  • Comprehensive discharge planning
